Bullet Proof Vest

How many departments have bullet proof ,stab proof, vests on thier engines?

I don't know of many fire departments that wear the bullet resistant vests, however there are several Private EMS services that I have worked for/know of that either recommend it or will at least pay partial for one. I would imagine it is difficult to fight fires wearing one.

I think they should be at least carry on them the truck like we do our turnouts and road vests and be mandantory for GSW's and such.

The only dept I know of in the valley that has/had them on their trucks is Glendale Fire. The biggest complaint I've heard with them is the bulkiness and weight of them.
